Mrs. Stewart's Grade Two Adventure!

 Reminders: There is no school on Thursday or Friday for Teachers Convention. No school on Monday for Family Day Wednesday is a SPIRIT DAY!!!  Wear Red or Pink day if you would like to on Wednesday February 11th On Wednesday our class will be celebrating Valentines Day.  If your child wishes to make valentines day cards for the class, they can bring them in on Wednesday and we will have some time to exchange cards.  This is not mandatory and they do not need to bring in anything.  If they are bringing in cards please ensure they have one for every student in our class.  A class list was sent home last week and there is one on Friday's blog.  Please email me if you have any questions.  Reminders: Next week there is no school on Thursday or Friday for Teachers Convention.  No school on Monday February 16th for Family Day.  Classes resume on Tuesday February 17th. We will be doing a class Valentines Day on Wednesday February 11th.  Please see Ms. Brinson' email about this.  In our class we will do a card exchange for any students who wish to bring in Valentines Day cards, this is NOT mandatory and only if they want to.  If your child is briniging in cards, please ensure there is one for every child in the class.  I have sent home a paper list of names and it is in one of the photos below too.  We are NOT allowed to give out candy or food of any kind so please do not send any in.  If you have any questions you can email me. Highlights of Grade Two Today: we did some more of our science centres! Ask me which ones I did and what I learned about sound from them! We got to do two rounds today!!!  we went to gym and we did some curling and even watched some real Olympic curling!  Ms. Sera was here with us in the morning we did literacy stations today, ask me which ones I did! we added a subtraction strategy to our visual journal! We learned how to use the hundreds chart to subtract two digit numbers we read a book called I Color Myself Different and talked about how February is Black History Month we read a book called Lucy Tries Luge, ask me what Olympic sport I would try we made a BINGO on basic facts math today! We practiced making 10 +, we made a ten and added to it! 

 Highlights of Grade Two Today: we began our science experiments! Ask me which one I did today and ask me what the four steps are in our science experiments (hint - question, hypothesis, observations and conclusion) we went to music we went on a community walk and did a sound search.  Ask me what natural and human made sounds I heard we did literacy stations and we have a new writing and reading station....ask me about it (hint: Olympics)
