Reminders:  We go outside every day so please come dressed for all kinds of weather! 

Highlights of Grade Two Today:
  • we went outside and did the WHOLE SCHOOL READ OUT!  We all were outside reading for 20 minutes.
  • we did math today where we had one plastic block, one wood block and one pencil and we had to use these non-standard units to measure different things! Ask me what I measured.
  • we read a book called An Imagination Like Mine and we talked about the difference between imagination and reality.  Ask me what were some things I drew for my imagination and what did I draw for reality.
  • we finished our science page on the Earth and watched a video about Earth. Ask me what I know about the Earth's air, land, water and living things.

Today was an awesome first day of Grade Two!!   Here are some highlights we came up with: - having two recesses - making our class is a family bracelets - doing art and making puzzle pieces. - morning and afternoon maker - meeting all our new friends We did such a great job of remembering expectations for the school today!  We read two stories, Our Class is a Family and School's First Day of School ask me which one was my favourite.  Here are a couple pictures of our day today.

Reminders: - we will be inline skating next week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) please remember to bring your helmet if you have one and wear socks!  - Tuesday October 31st is Halloween! Students can dress up in a costume, wear orange and black or their regular clothes!!!  Highlights for today: - we did some measurements on our pumpkins!!  Ask me what we measured. - we went in-line skating today and it was awesome!!  Ask me what we learned!!!  Check out ALL the pictures of us skating!

 Reminders: Please return Alien Inline permission forms and Digital Citizen forms.  We want to start doing listening to reading as one of our literacy stations. It would be helpful if your student can bring in a pair of headphones that they can leave at school.  If you have volunteer clearance and are available during our Alien Inline times, we would really appreciate help with laces and knee/ elbow pads. During Alien Inline it is most helpful if students can bring their own helmets. Our week is Oct. 27th- Nov. 2nd.  Gym is outside all month so please make sure you are prepared for all kinds of weather!  Thursday is Picture Day. Next Thursday October 12th is Fun Lunch day.  If you would like to order fun lunch go to healthyhunger.ca to order for your child. Tomorrow at 6pm is our information session about our Campus Calgary field trip this year! It will be held in person at NLS.
