 Reminders: There is no school on Monday or Tuesday for students.  We will see you back on Wednesday October 1st.  Tuesday October 2nd is picture day!!  Highlights of Grade Two Today: we went to gym and had Freedom Frenzy we went and tied orange ribbons onto the fence with our buddies.  These orange ribbons show our support for residential school survivors we read the buffalo walk, different important dates in Alberta history we learned about Winter Counts and how Indigenous people used them to keep track of time before the calendar we use today was introduced.  Ask me what I included for my first picture on my very own Winter Count we listented to a story called Buffalo Wild we watched a video about the September Moon and we are challenged to watch what changes in the next month in nature.

 Reminders: Meet the Teacher is tomorrow night from 5-7.  You can come at anytime during that time and you do not need to stay the entire time!! Orange Shirt Day is on Friday No school Monday and Tuesday Highlights of Grade Two Today: we had Word Problem Wednesday!!!  Ask me what kind of word problem we solved today we did literacy stations! Ask me which ones I did today! we went to music for music sharing we did Grateful for Cheese breathing today for a mindful minute we finished our Shi-shi-etko bags today, ask me which memories I would take with me. Kaito bought us another 5 extra minutes of recess today - thank you Kaito!!!

Reminders: Thursday is our Welcome to the New Year Open House!!!  Friday is Orange Shirt Day There is no school on Monday or Tuesday for students. Our EPIC class code is TLJ6799.  You can sign up for an account at home and use it when ever you would like or you can use it during school hours for free.  Highlights of Grade Two Today: we did literacy stations today, ask me which ones I went to we read another chapter of Megabat! It is such a funny book!! we read The Orange Shirt Story that told us about Orange shirt day and Phyllis Webstad we did a repeating pattern Show What You Know!!!!  Ask me what kind of pattern I showed! we did UFLI we went to gym and some people got to go to library, ask me what day my library day is we did mindful math and practiced our basic facts we counted our money - ask me if I got a coupon this time we read a book called Shi-shi-etko and talked about some memories we would want to keep if we were to go away.

Reminders:   Thursday is the Welcome to the New Year Open House! Friday is Orange Shirt Day.   There is no school on Monday September 29th and Tuesday September 30th.  I should bring in headphones for listening to reading.  Just plug in ones work the best, we cannot accomodate bluetooth.  There are cheap ones at the dollar store that seem to work well.  Highlights of Grade Two Today: we did three rounds of literacy stations today and some students got to do listening!!!   we learned about increasing patterns today we wrote sentences about why we would visit the places we chose to visit in Canada, ask me what I wrote. we went to gym and learned how to throw underhand we coloured a buffalo and talked about how the buffalo is a sign of respect and we wrote about what makes us feel respected, ask me what I wrote.

Reminders: We have started literacy stations and one of the stations is listening.  If your child would like to bring in headphones to listen to reading it would be very helpful.  They can live here at the school for easy access when they are listening to audio stories. Highlights of Grade Two Today: we went on the laptops today and they...WORKED!!!! We were pros at logging on and we were able to listen to stories on Epic Books.  Our class code is TLJ6799 and can be used at home during the week. we went outside for Field Study Friday and did some challenges with the other Grade Two classes! Ask me what challenges we did we started our learning about the Seven Grandfather Teachings.  Today we drew a picture of the buffalo and learned that the buffalo represents respect.  we went to music!  September 30 th is a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation meant to commemorate the history and legacy of Residential Schools in Canada.
