Reminders:

Tonight is our Welcome to the New Year Open House from 4:30pm- 7:00pm.  There are food trucks and family games outside to enjoy. Come anytime you would like.

No school tomorrow for a PD day.

No school on Monday for Truth and Reconciliation Day

We return on Tuesday October 1st.

Picture day is on Thursday October 3rd.


Highlights of Grade Two Today:
  • we went out and tied our ribbons to the fence with our Grade Five buddies! Ask me what I wrote on my ribbon.
  • we went to music today and learned some Pow Wow dances.
  • we skip counted on our hundreds chart by 2 and 10 starting and lots of different numbers, ask me if I think this is hard or easy.
  • we played a math game counting by 10's if 100 lands on you, you have to sit down.
  • we read a book called Shi Shi Etko about a young girl collecting memories before she had to go off to residential school.
  • we read another chapter of The Wild Robot. Brightbill found out that Roz wasn't his true mother and they decided they had a strange family, but it was a family full of love.
  • we did a mindful minute Peace Out.

Reminders: Coming up next week is our Terry Fox Run (on Thursday September 19th) Subway Fun Lunch is on Thursday September 19th. Highlights of Grade Two Today: we worked on our 'Good Egg' art today! Ask me what I drew. we did our provincial numeracy assessment today! Ask me how that went. we learned about our Word Work centre, we are practicing Heart Words and High Frequency Words (which are words we come across a lot in reading and writing) we went to music today and we got to sing a song in a circle and played a game where we woke Mo up! Ask me about this we reviewed the two sounds for the digraph 'th'.  There is voiced sound and a quiet sound. we read another chapter from The Wild Robot, ask me abou this book! we made patterns in math today, we made repeating patterns with 4 or more elements in the core! Reminders: Tomorrow we are going on a community walk and we will be doing some sketching outside so please come dressed for the weather.  It may be a bit colder because we won't be running around, so dressing in layers is a good idea (shirt, sweater and coat).  We are going out around 11:30am. There is no school on Monday October 14th for Thanksgiving Day.  School will resume on Tuesday October 15th. IMPORTANT | Help Still Needed on October 19 or October 20   Next weekend on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20 are the dates we were given for our Casino Fundraiser. We still have five spots that are not filled.  If we cannot fill all volunteer slots, the Casino cancels our fundraiser and we are not permitted to apply for another 18 months…which would put us to another three years before another opportunity arises.  With this opportunity giving us over $70 000, it is critical that we fill the spots so we get the money!  If you, or your family / friends, are able to help, it wo
