 Reminders:

This Thursday March 12th is the 100th day of school!!!!  You can come to school dressed up like the future you!!!

Next Tuesday March 17th is St. Patricks Day and we will be trying to catch a leprechaun by building a trap! We have been thinking about what materials would be right for this job! We are thinking of a cardboard box for the base of our trap! If you have an empty cardboard box please bring it in instead of recycling it and we can use it for building our traps! There are some pictures below of examples of traps for you to look at!  If you want to bring in any other kinds of materials you can, but we will have stuff here as well!  Please DO NOT build your trap at home, we will be building them here at school on Monday March 16th. We are beginning to collect materials now.

Please return your field trip forms as soon as possible! 


Highlights of Grade Two Today:

  • we started a new POWER writing project today.  We are writing about what we will be like in the year 2118 when we are 100 years old!!! (POWER stands for Plan, Organize, Write, Edit, Re-read)
  • we did three rounds of reading stations, ask me which ones I went to
  • we practiced more two digit addition strategies, we will have a Show What You Know on Wednesday so everyone can show Mrs. Stewart their addition skills
  • we went to gym
  • we looked at light and how it travels, ask me how light travels.

Reminders: ** I forgot to send home the yellow home folders with a parent questionaire in it.  I will send them home tomorrow. I am sorry!! ** Terry Fox run is on September 18th. In Grade Two Today We: we made name tags for our supply bins! Ask me how I coloured mine! we started working on our time capsules, we are measuring our hands, feet, height and drawing a picture and writing words to put away until the end of the year! we talked about emergency procedures and practiced walking out to our post for a fire drill.  Ask me what our post number is....hint it comes after 5. we read a book written by Lebron James called I Promise, then we made our very own Grade 2 promise and we signed it!!  Ask me what we all promised for this year....hint: it is in the picture below. we went outside for recess we learned 'walk the wall' which taught us to walk following the wall all the way around to the front of the school in case we ever find ourselves outside our door and not able to ...

 Reminders:  Tomorrow is our Terry Fox Run!!  We will be going out with our Grade Five buddies to do the run! You can still bring in Toonies for Terry if you would like to donate. Highlights of Grade Two Today: we drew a picture of Terry Fox today we did three rounds of literacy stations, ask me which ones I did we went for our library orientation! Ask me how we go to library this year and how many books we get to take out we finished our self portraits!! We can't wait for you to see them next week......and test you on who's who we watched a video about Terry Fox, it taught us that anything is possible if you work hard and don't give up we went to the gym and LTS - Last Team Standing we did Word Problem Wednesday and did a subtraction word problem!!
