Tuesday, April 28th - Food Discovery Program
Parents have already received emails and a letter regarding the program from the school. Students will be making yogurt and fruit parfaits. Please send a snack and lunch with your child on this day as they will only have a tasting, this will not be a full meal. 


Highlights of Grade Two Today:
  • we finished up our writing where we were creating our very own stories. Ask me what my story is about
  • we had Microscope Mark here to teach us about different slippery, slimy, stretchy, soft, sloppy, squishy materials!!  I even got to make some slime to bring home!!! Ask me about this program
  • we did math today and learned the stacking method for subtraction, we now know how to use a number line, hundreds chart, base ten blocks and stacking to subtract.  I can DEFINITELY use practice on these at home
  • we went to gym and had the whole gym to ourselves and Mrs. Stewart was our gym teacher. Ask me what kind of games we played
  • we talked about imports and exports and trading. Ask me one thing Canada imports and one thing Canada exports
  • we read a book called I Always Win and talked about how we should treat our friends when we lose or when we win. How we act after a win or a loss matters.

Reminders: ** I forgot to send home the yellow home folders with a parent questionaire in it.  I will send them home tomorrow. I am sorry!! ** Terry Fox run is on September 18th. In Grade Two Today We: we made name tags for our supply bins! Ask me how I coloured mine! we started working on our time capsules, we are measuring our hands, feet, height and drawing a picture and writing words to put away until the end of the year! we talked about emergency procedures and practiced walking out to our post for a fire drill.  Ask me what our post number is....hint it comes after 5. we read a book written by Lebron James called I Promise, then we made our very own Grade 2 promise and we signed it!!  Ask me what we all promised for this year....hint: it is in the picture below. we went outside for recess we learned 'walk the wall' which taught us to walk following the wall all the way around to the front of the school in case we ever find ourselves outside our door and not able to ...

 Reminders:  Tomorrow is our Terry Fox Run!!  We will be going out with our Grade Five buddies to do the run! You can still bring in Toonies for Terry if you would like to donate. Highlights of Grade Two Today: we drew a picture of Terry Fox today we did three rounds of literacy stations, ask me which ones I did we went for our library orientation! Ask me how we go to library this year and how many books we get to take out we finished our self portraits!! We can't wait for you to see them next week......and test you on who's who we watched a video about Terry Fox, it taught us that anything is possible if you work hard and don't give up we went to the gym and LTS - Last Team Standing we did Word Problem Wednesday and did a subtraction word problem!!
