 Reminders:

We are going to be building animal enclosures for our science unit of learning about different materials! If you have any items you would like to bring in for this, that would be great!!! We will have building materials here in class too, but some common items that would be helpful are:

📦 Styrofoam
🪵 Popsicle sticks
🦷 Toothpicks
🌱 Green artificial grass
🎨 Plasticine/modeling clay
☁️ Cotton wool
🥤 Straws
🧻 Toilet paper rolls


If there is anything else you are thinking would be good for your animal enclosure, you can bring it in too!!!

Next week there are two important days:

Thursday June 11th is Imagination Day!!!! Dress up like anything your imagination can dream up!!! 

Friday June 12 is our Volunteer Tea, if you have volunteered anytime this year, let Ms. Brinson know you are coming!!

Highlights of Grade Two:
  • we did art today and used the paint markers
  • we made 3D shapes, ask me what shape I made
  • we did morning maker today and used some new building materials, ask me what I used
  • we wrote messages of thanks to the parents who volunteered for us this school year
  • we have been learning about translations, rotations and reflections - ask me what these words mean

Reminders: ** I forgot to send home the yellow home folders with a parent questionaire in it.  I will send them home tomorrow. I am sorry!! ** Terry Fox run is on September 18th. In Grade Two Today We: we made name tags for our supply bins! Ask me how I coloured mine! we started working on our time capsules, we are measuring our hands, feet, height and drawing a picture and writing words to put away until the end of the year! we talked about emergency procedures and practiced walking out to our post for a fire drill.  Ask me what our post number is....hint it comes after 5. we read a book written by Lebron James called I Promise, then we made our very own Grade 2 promise and we signed it!!  Ask me what we all promised for this year....hint: it is in the picture below. we went outside for recess we learned 'walk the wall' which taught us to walk following the wall all the way around to the front of the school in case we ever find ourselves outside our door and not able to ...

 Reminders:  Tomorrow is our Terry Fox Run!!  We will be going out with our Grade Five buddies to do the run! You can still bring in Toonies for Terry if you would like to donate. Highlights of Grade Two Today: we drew a picture of Terry Fox today we did three rounds of literacy stations, ask me which ones I did we went for our library orientation! Ask me how we go to library this year and how many books we get to take out we finished our self portraits!! We can't wait for you to see them next week......and test you on who's who we watched a video about Terry Fox, it taught us that anything is possible if you work hard and don't give up we went to the gym and LTS - Last Team Standing we did Word Problem Wednesday and did a subtraction word problem!!
